Stanley in Australia part two

Dear Xander and all of Mrs. Weatherford's students,

Unfortunately it's raining quite a bit in Brisbane at the moment.  As I don't want Stanley to get too soggy, I will have to hold off exploring the city for a day or so.  In the meantime, I do have a couple more photos to show you.

In Australia they have a very popular spread on their toast for breakfast.  It's called Vegemite!

As it's quite salty and strong in flavour, the biggest tip I can give you on how to eat it is to have hot buttered toast and scrape the spread on thinly.  It's not peanut butter and jam!  Here's a photo of Stanley with a few jars of the spread, and eating it for breakfast.  Yum yum.

Here is a photo of Stanley catching the train at Central Station.  There are 12 train lines that go to Central Station, so it's a very busy place.

This building is the General Post Office (GPO) of Brisbane.  It was built in 1872.

Yesterday I sent you a photo of Stanley sitting at my desk.  Today I am sending you a photo of the view he gets.  If you have a look between the tall buildings, you can see the Brisbane River.  It splits Brisbane City into two - north and south.

I attach a map of Brisbane CBD.  Can you spot some of the places Stanley has had his photo taken?  I've put some red dots at the locations, with a pink dot showing where he goes to work.

Hopefully the weather will fine up shortly and I'll bring you a better photo of the river, along with other photos of Brisbane.

Bye for now

Jan and Stanley
