Stanley visits Milwaukee Art Museum

Anijah's Flat Stanley arrived in Chicago and then went on a trip to the Milwaukee Art Museum with us on March 4th.  It was a snowy day but we had a lot of fun!  In the first photo you can see Stanley standing outside the beautiful Milwaukee Art Museum.  The building was designed by the Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava and has large wings called the "Burke Brise Soleil" which move - they open and close with the museum each day, just like a giant bird.  The museum is on the shore of Lake Michigan and you can see the lake in the background of the picture.

Inside the museum we saw an exhibit of artwork called "Accidental Genius" which featured all self-taught artists.  Unfortunately we weren't allowed to take photographs in that exhibit, but we did get a couple of photos of Stanley checking out an amazing sculpture inside the museum.  This enormoussculpture is made entirely of glass and was created by the artist, Dale Chihuly.  You can see more of his art and learn more about the artist on his website at http://www.chihuly.com/.

Anijah's Stanley is now back in Chicago and looking forward to more adventures in the city!
